In this study we are running two studies together for the sake of time. In the first study participants will be asked to read and judge a news article. Then, participants will be asked to make judgments about groups in America. A demographic measure is also included. This should require approximately 15 minutes of your time during a single session.

Enlistment into the study is restricted to those individuals who are 18 years of age or older.

There is a slight possibility that you will experience unpleasant feelings during your participation in these procedures as you might find in many psychological experiments. However, you should not experience any other risks than those encountered in everyday, normal living.

a) When your participation is complete, you will be given an opportunity to learn about this research, which may be useful to you in your understanding yourself and others.

b) You will have an opportunity to contribute to psychological science by participating in this research.

c) You will be compensated for your time and effort via Amazon Mechanical Turk

If you decide to participate, you may discontinue without penalty or loss of benefits to you to which you are otherwise entitled.

No identifying information will be collected. Further, no one will be able to know which are your questionnaire responses. All data will be kept in secured files, in accord with the standards of the college, Federal regulations, and the American Psychological Association. Finally, remember that it is not individual person's responses that interest us; we are interested in average judgments of people in general. The data derived from this study could be used in reports, presentations, and publications but you will never be individually identified.
